I’m Shannon, the co-founder of Binge Eating Hope, a platform and community raising awareness and promoting recovery for Binge Eating Disorder (BED).
I struggled for BED silently for years in college, largely because I didn’t know what binge eating disorder was, and also because I was too ashamed and embarrassed to ask for help.
When I was in the depths of my eating disorder, I longed for a friend who I could talk to who knew what it was like to have binge eating disorder.
I didn’t know who I could talk to, and it was really lonely. There were also so few resources online at that point for Binge Eating Disorder, and the information I did find about it felt stale, judgmental, or all together unhelpful.
Now that I’m at a point in my recovery where I feel empowered to share about my experience, I started Binge Eating Hope to be the friend for those who need one when they are navigating binge eating disorder.
